Green Gym

Outdoor Fresh air… keeping fit… caring for Nature… being part of a team…

Plaistow’s Greenway Orchard  has a ‘Green Gym’ every Thursday from 11 till 2 PM. This is a drop-in opportunity to do some conservation volunteering, socialise and heat up the water for your cuppa on a fire!

PSBL is delighted to hold the Green Gym licence and to be supporting the volunteers to become an independent Plaistow Green Gym. Currently Amanda Sandford is the volunteer leading the sessions and she is looking for help with administration, marketing and other aspects of the group as well as volunteers willing to lead or organise the programme.

The Orchard is between Prince Regent Lane and Boundary Rd, at the Boundary Road end. Unless it is absolutely terrible weather, volunteers will be there every Thursday!  The Greenway Orchard is a community space made available through Newham Council.

Accessibility issues: The entrance is here google pin. There are paths but the area is uneven.  We can usually find tasks to fit most impairments and abilities 🙂

Planting… pruning… maintaining… building… harvesting… planning…weeding…watering..

Training is available and lots of skills are useful other than gardening knowledge 🙂
