South Plaistow is one of 150 areas selected by the Big Lottery to receive funds from a £200 million 10-year programme to ensure lottery ‘good causes’ money is fairly distributed.

We have over £1 million to spend between 2014 and 2024!  For more about the Big Local scheme nationally click here.

Plaistow South Big Local is about bringing together the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make the area an even better place to live.

The PSBL area is set by the Big Lottery.  This is the map and list of streets directly included – PSBL map & streets – though we expect the surrounding area to benefit substantially too.

We have a formal “Partnership Board”, called the Steering Group.   Contact them here.

The current Steering Group members are: Patrick Pieroni (Chair), Stephen Moore  (Treasurer, Vice Chair), Joyce Baptiste (Vice Chair), Jenny Skelding,  Jen Moore, Jess Damidot,  Nadia Begum, Naomi Elliott, Nathalie Pierre, Peter Paynme, Phyllis Grant,

We aim to make a significant and lasting positive difference to our community. We are always keen to gain new members to help shape and fulfil the 2017-2020 Plan created by the community, and with the new Plan we are creating for 2020 and beyond.

This website is dedicated to sharing the needs and resources of south Plaistow, and showing the why, what, when and how we are using our £1 million.

PSBL has consulted locally at schools, youth clubs, community group meetings and events, collecting more than twelve hundred expressions of what local people like about the area and what they want to improve.  Our initial Plan has been updated and amended through consultation at our Forum meetings and various surveys.
We have now entered the 3rd Year of our Plan to address the issues and needs raised. The  3-year Plan to take us into 2020 is here and we are working on our next plan January – June 2020.
